Grants
FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT & EQUITY (FEE) GRANT
This grant is to help build the systems and institutional support for students of color to develop financial capability. NGPF funding enables districts to hire personal finance specialists for up to a three year period.
Grants support the immediate access to personal finance courses by encouraging high schools to add personal finance courses of at least one semester before the 2027-28 deadline
CALIFORNIA ACCESS TO FINANCIAL EDUCATION (CAFE) GRANT
NGPF and California’s Department of Education are providing stipends for up to 1,000 high school teachers completing professional development and grants for districts to hire personal finance specialists.
FLORIDA ACCESS TO FINANCIAL EDUCATION (FAFE) GRANT
In partnership with the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation, up to 2,000 Florida high school teachers will receive stipends for completing professional development, supporting the new personal finance course guarantee.
MICHAEL JORDAN AND JORDAN BRAND GRANT
In partnership with Michael Jordan and the Jordan Brand, this grant provides school districts in Detroit (MI), Fulton County (GA), New York City (NY), Philadelphia (PA) and Charlotte and Guilford County (NC) with personal finance specialists to increase access to the course.
WISCONSIN PERSONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY (PFL) GRANT
NGPF is supporting the implementation of Wisconsin's Act 60 by providing stipends to public high school educators for completing personal finance professional development.
MISSISSIPPI COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION
Grant supports professional development for Mississippi high school educators responsible for teaching the guaranteed college and career readiness course.
Grant supports innovative non-profit organization in Philadelphia focused on developing financial capability in low-income students of color.
Grant supports various research projects including the annual NGPF State of Financial Education Report and research on effectiveness of teacher professional development.
RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (RIDE)
Grant supports a teacher ambassador program and stipends for educators upon completion of professional development. Rhode Island passed legislation in 2021 to guarantee financial education for all high school students.
FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY
Grant supports professional development activities in Florida and a research report that measured access to financial education for Florida high school students.
MICHIGAN COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION
Grant supports teacher professional development in light of the legislation in 2022 that guarantees a personal finance course to all Michigan high schoolers.
Grant enabled NGPF to invite authors to monthly Speaker Series events and provided 50 teachers with free copies of their book
MASSACHUSETTS COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION
Grant seeks to increase access to financial education in Massachusetts through teacher stipends for completing professional development and funding for a summer FinCamp for educators.
NATIONAL JUMP$TART & STATE AFFILIATES
We continue to partner with and sponsor both the National Jump$tart and its state-specific chapters.
SFE&PD
We support SFE&PD’s efforts to teach personal finance skills to students at historically Black colleges/universities and individuals from underserved communities.
NGPF is proud to support the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center in becoming the world's leading center for financial literacy research and policy
Multi-year grant supports podcast for middle schoolers produced by Marketplace.
Financially Inclined is a teenager-focused video podcast series featuring real people’s true stories about the decisions they’ve made about money! Sponsored by NGPF and hosted by NGPF’s Director of Educational Outreach, Yanely Espinal.
NGPF is partnering with ASU to offer two new online graduate courses: Investment Management for Educators & Risk Management for Educators. NGPF’s certification courses are prerequisites.
NGPF disbursed grants to schools that adopted stand-alone, 1-semester personal finance graduation requirements.
NGPF offered free Premium Plus Nearpod accounts to Personal Finance teachers.
NGPF partnered with 21 states to provide free PD and resources to educators.
RELAY GSE PD GRANT
NGPF provided 250 educators with focused PD on online facilitation and engagement strategies.
PAYBACK CHALLENGE
NGPF hosted an annual contest with student submissions based on the Arcade game, Payback. The contest provided more than $500,000 in student scholarships over 7 years.
