NGPF's Best of 2021: Most Popular On-Demand Modules
Given teacher's increasingly hectic schedules, we heard about the need for PD that could be completed asynchronously. Recording our live virtual PD sessions wasn't a viable option since it would sacrifice the interactivity and the collaboration that teachers tell us are the reasons they attend. Instead, NGPF On-Demand modules were created with these tenets in mind:
- Content knowledge: Focus on deepening teacher content knowledge in areas they find most challenging (e.g., investing, taxes, insurance)
- Interactive: Use the Nearpod platform and incorporate 7-10 interactive elements
- Self-paced: Allow teachers to pace themselves with a target completion time of one hour
- Timely: When possible, create modules that touch on events of the day
Launched in January of 2021, 3900 teachers have completed more than 26,000 modules. Amazing!

About the Author
Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
