Six months into the NGPF Academy year, we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize a group of teachers who have gone the "extra mile" through their commitment to professional development. 

• The NGPF Extra Mile Award - Certification Course goes to educators who have completed ALL 8 of NGPF's Certification Courses. NGPF Certification Courses build teacher content knowledge through 9 hours of live instruction and successful completion of a certification exam. Since June of this year, more than 3600 certifications have been earned and these 33 teachers have demonstrated excellence in Investing, Advanced Investing, Behavioral Finance, Insurance, Taxes, Paying for College, Banking and Budgeting and Credit. 
• The NGPF Extra Mile Award - Virtual PDs goes to educators whose commitment to NGPF Virtual PDs since June 2020 ranked them in the top 1% based on the NGPF Academy credits they earned for attending Virtual PDs. NGPF Virtual PDs engage educators through live, hands-on workshops focused on curriculum, content, pedagogy and tech tools and are offered 15 times per week.

Tim Ranzetta

Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
