Million Bazillion, a kid's podcast about money, to launch on July 21st
NGPF is excited to support the latest podcast from Marketplace. Million Bazillion will engage, enlighten and educate as host Jed Kim answers those tricky questions that kids have about money. Early episodes include these topics:
- Who invented money?
- How might you get your parents to agree to buy something you want?
- How do advertisers make you want what they’re selling — and how do you take your brain back?
- And why do things like pizza cost what they do?
I got to listen to a few of the early episodes with my 10 year old son and it led to some great conversations (and I learned something new too!). Here's to hoping that you and your students enjoy them as much as we did. In case you were wondering, target audience is 8-14.
About the Author
Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
