Every year the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing period opens on October 1st. We’ve gone through our Paying For College Unit materials to make sure you’ve got the most up to date information that will help your students make the best decisions for their future.

What’s changed?

1. Loan Rates - Every summer the Office of Federal Student Aid adjusts their loan rates. These figures are updated through all resources  for loans disbursed from 7/1/2021-7/1/2022.

2. FAFSA Statistics - Get the most up-to-date statistics on FAFSA filing and outcomes from the 2020-2021 filing year.

3. Wage Statistics  - Employment and degree statistics in our Data Crunches are updated with more recent Bureau of Labor Statistics information.

4. There were a handful of resources  that were RETIRED. These resources are still accessible in the NGPF Retired Resources Spreadsheet that is available at the bottom of this Teacher Toolkit page. 

Please note that the NGPF Curriculum Team is no longer actively maintaining these documents.

What hasn’t changed?

We have not rewritten the curriculum or done a total revamp of the whole unit. There are still the same number and flow of lessons in the curriculum, just with updates data and figures.
