Just One Resource - PROJECT: Create a Scam Guidebook

[The Resource] PROJECT: Create a Scam Guidebook
The Gist: Financial scams are everywhere, out to get you if you're not vigilant. As the school year draws to a close, why not have your students deep dive into the nitty-gritty of how different scams work and how to protect themselves using this fun group project and presentation?
The Best Parts:
- Students start from the same foundational resource -- a comprehensive guidebook of different types of financial scams -- but then have the option to do their own online research, too, to increase their knowledge base.
- This is a group project, perfect for the end of the school year when students are chatty and maybe too worn out to do a full project on their own
- Each group prepares slides and presents to the rest class, so communication and presentation skills are on display. They also gain experience working in Google Slides
- A "follow along" graphic organizer is provided so that students are accountable for notetaking while other groups present
Cheating by adding another cool resource -- this infographic from Visual Capitalist talks explicitly about investing scams.
