The NGPF Spanish & ELL directory currently includes 231 curriculum resources that have been translated into Spanish. If you've ever wondered about the translation process, read on for more.

Spanish-translated resources include activities, projects, case studies, unit reviews, and assessments for both high school and middle school curriculums, a bilingual personal finance dictionary, a six-part YouTube video series, and the Payback Arcade game.

NGPF provides quality Spanish translations by:

Syncing the vocabulary

More than one translation option often exists for financial terms. Research is done to choose the best option, and it is included across the entire curriculum. These translations are also synced with the terms in the personal finance dictionary.

Explaining, not just translating

Using a translator who was a teacher means that extra care is taken to consider the student audience with each translation. Financial systems vary by country, and sometimes a word-for-word translation isn’t enough for students to understand the content. When outside resources only available in English are linked, extra care is taken to provide context for understanding.

Remaining consistent 

Decisions on whether or not to use an informal or formal “you,” providing similar context structures, and ensuring that students using the English or Spanish versions can work together are additional considerations that NGPF has made with its translations.

Updating 

When any of the 231 curriculum resources are updated in the English versions, the Spanish versions get an update, too!
